Written and recorded between late December 2015 and early January 2016, Byrgen's third release, 'Ashes In The Snow', is a departure from the project's original style of ambient/drone doom.

'Ashes In The Snow' is based heavily on Winter, as well as some personal themes. I wanted to create something harsh in sound that could echo how cold and biting the Winter months can be. To do that, I used a lot of different types of reverb and a few EQs set to boost high end, as well as some gritty, treble-focused guitar tones that crackle and hiss.

Recorded and produced in a studio with no name, situated in my own bedroom.
